I found a site that has 50 interesting facts about Facebook. Number 17 is actually pretty creepy but shows why you should really understand that Facebook is VERY public. And can apparently lead to arrests.

This is very interesting. I can not believe that people have actually gone looking for sex on Facebook! Can anyone say desperate? Thank goodness they have since removed pages like that. Wow! More and more of these facts are related to sex. It's just a website. How is it legal for a country to ban Facebook? Just curious... Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteSarah! this is beyond interesting. I love it! I thought it was funny that it said Iran banned Facebook, when really they TRIED and still trying to ban Facebook. Because many users there use proxies to get to the website and most of the time it works. Taylor to answer your question: they ban Facebook out of fear that it can lead to people communicating about mass protests (since they are tyrannical countries), such as whats happening in countries like Egypt and Iran have done......Sarah you are right number 17 was extremely creepy! And one other thing that I thought was interesting that 70% of users are international!
