Blogging

I don't have anything too productive to post today. So I'm just going to vent. I am not a blogger by nature but rather because I have to. I don't like blogging I don't even like keeping a diary because I don't like people knowing what I'm doing or thinking if it's not through conversation. I know that this blog isn't all that personal because I've chosen not to let it be. But it still gives me the creeps... I don't love blogging.

Relationship Status is Now All-Accepting

It used to be that your options were Single, In a Relationship, Married, It's Complicated, Divorced, or Widdowed. Well now Facebook has introduced in a Civil Union and in a Domestic Partnership to the list. This is a mojor step in promoting equality on Facebook and I am extremely pleased with Facebook.

Your Facebook Relationship Sttus: It's Complicated

I found this article when I was browsing looking for things to help my Arugumentative essay. I think it is very true that it makes things very complicated and that this article puts into writing that there are many people who do believe that the relationship is not legit or exclusive untill it is facebook official. I for one am one of those people. I took my relationship status off of Facebook to spare the feelings of an Ex but when your relationship is Facebook official it lets all the other girls that are creepin your bf/gf's page know that they are YOURS and that you are nott sharing. I feel like if you are not Facebook official you are hiding that person, because you are willing to put so much on facebook why hide them? My one exception is if I am actually hiding a girlfriend from my family. But even then I post that I am in a relationship and have that discution with my girlfriend.

Safeguard Your Facebook!!

We keep talking about how unsafe Facebook is and how much trouble we can bring ourselves with what we put on Facebook, so I was really glad to stumble upon this site that has 10 tips on how to keep your Facebook secure. It is mainly how to prevent the wrong people from seeing what they shouldn't but it walks you through simple steps that will save you a lot of grief if you follow them. The ONLY thing I would add to the list is do a friend cleansing once in a while, where you go through and delete the people that you don't know (there are typically a lot that you either don't like, don't talk to, or don't know).

We aren't the only ones with Facebook issues

We always get into discussions about the things we like and don't like about Facebook. I found this video that has someone else venting about the 25 things that bother him about Facebook, with really crap acting incorporated :]

50 Facebook Facts

I found a site that has 50 interesting facts about Facebook. Number 17 is actually pretty creepy but shows why you should really understand that Facebook is VERY public. And can apparently lead to arrests.

The Library is Under Attack...Or so it sounds.

The ONE day I wake up early to come to the library to get work done is the day the library is unbelievably distracting. First the power goes out, for some reason that no one can figure out. So about 2/3 of the computers shut down and the lights are blinking and the printers don't work. Then the beeping starts. It's a fun mix of a fire alarm and a burglary alarm. A very constant beep that is irritating to no end. Then on top of the rest the actual fire alarm goes off. So am I to believe that this is what goes on before 9 am? Because I haven't been awake this early in ages, so I wouldn't know. Or is this honestly what happens when we get a little rain at Queens University? No thunder, no lightning, not even heavy winds, just rain. No matter what this is not helping my chances of getting work done because the library itself is more distracting then if I go back to dorm and do my work from my bed periodically checking Facebook. So bed... Here I come. At least I tried to be studious first thing in the morning.

Wordle: Untitled

WORDLE!! This thing is so cool, i never knew you could do that!!

Army Strong

This is a poster for the U.S. Army, this poster is used to help persuade americans to join the armed forces. The message is that joining the U.S. Army will give you strength unlike any other, Army Strength. This strength is not only physical but mental and emotional. The speaker of this argument is the U.S. Army. The audience is the American people. This argument along with many others attempts to persuade people to join the armed forces and be like the people they see in pictures. The people in this particular picture are geared up so they look as if they are on a mission. This shows importance. The helicopters above show other options of the army, perhaps being a pilot or a paratrooper. And the fact that there are two men in the picture rather then one helps send the message that when you are a member of the U.S. Army you are not alone. Many people do not like the U.S. Army promoting to young people as they do in high schools, but I believe that it is a very nobel thing to do for your country.

First Blog

OK, blogging is weird, it's like an online diary.  And if anyone ever read my diary (if I had one) I'd kill them. So this is weird... But if we are blogging then I guess I'll just put a video up :] and to add to the Bruins theme of my video, I'll mention the 7-0 shutout the B's had against the hurricanes on Monday! That was followed by yet ANOTHER win by the B's against Carolina tonight.
